Pinterest Marketing Success Stories
On any social media platform, there are always going to be certain brands and businesses that go above and beyond in their marketing efforts to get the best results. These companies pay close attention to their marketing strategies and perform social media audits to determine what is working well for them and what is not. The following businesses have found success in their marketing strategies on Pinterest.
The first business that has found marketing success using Pinterest is Gatorade. Gatorade wanted to help their existing audience stay interested and inspired, all while reaching new audiences as well. In order to do this, they teamed up with four of Pinterest's most popular fitness creators to create Idea Ads that provided workout inspiration and reminded people to stay hydrated. Two of the creators they partnered with were VeraLaRo and Domonique Panton. The creators also filmed themselves doing inspiring workouts and utilizing healthy living routines with Gatorade, Gatorade water bottles, towels and other branded products. To make sure they were reaching the right audience, Gatorade used a combination of trends, interest and keyword targeting to reach people using Pinterest for workout inspiration. With this content, Gatorade generated over 14 million views, 34 million impressions and 99,000 clicks.
The next company that had a Pinterest success story was iRobot, the maker of Roomba robot vacuum cleaners. iRobot knew that pet parents on Pinterest are two times more likely to discover a new product or brand and 2022 Pinterest Predicts Report insights showed that pet parents were turning to the platform for interior design ideas centered around pets, a trend called "Barkitecture." With this knowledge, iRobot came up with a Pinterest awareness campaign to promote their newest robotic vacuum designed specifically for pet owners. The company invested in the Barkitecture Pinterest Trend Badge to appeal to all pet parents who wanted to keep their homes clean. Pinterest's Trend Badge is an insights-driven advertising solution that enables brands to tap into the top themes, with inspirational content and ideas that Pinterest users are searching for during key seasonal moments. iRobot leveraged a mix of static and video ads featuring their product the Roomba j7+ robot vacuum cleaner, which was designed for cleaning up pet fur. Their ads featuring the Barkitecture Trend Badge received a 2.4x higher click-through rate for consideration ads and 47% longer video ad view times.
