Halloweekend!

I had been looking forward to this weekend for a while and it finally came, Halloweekend! Halloween isn't my favorite holiday but I still love being able to dress up and have fun. One of my favorite parts about Halloween is seeing everyone else's costumes, because some people come up with funny ones. This year, my friend and I decided to go as Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Boothe! I saw the idea on TikTok last year, so we have had this planned for a year now. I think it's so funny, so I have been looking forward to this weekend for a long time!

My weekend started off slow on Friday night, I just hung out in my apartment with my friend and watched some movies. Saturday, I worked the men's soccer game. It was a very exciting game because it was close the whole time but we scored with just a minute left to win! And the same guy scored all three of our goals for a hat trick, so it was really cool! After the game, I wrote the game recap for the men's and women's games. After that, my friends and I went to Lima for supper. We were deciding between Texas Roadhouse and Olive Garden, but Texas Roadhouse had a longer wait so we decided to go to Olive Garden. I got my usual, Chicken Tortellini Alfredo, along with the endless salad and breadsticks!

When we got back to campus, I hung out in my friends dorm and we watched High School Musical, one of our favorite movies. After the movie was finished, we finally put on our Halloween costumes. We couldn't stop laughing because of how funny we looked! I sent some pictures to my other friends and they all loved it and thought it was as funny as we did! When we were all ready, we went to a Halloween party. There were a lot of people there, even someone else dressed as Abraham Lincoln! I got a lot of complements on my costume, although one guy asked if I was supposed to be Amish or Abraham Lincoln, so it was mostly a success!

Sunday was spent doing pretty much nothing. My friend and I went to Wendy's for lunch, then we spent the rest of the day just hanging out in my dorm. Later in the afternoon, she randomly said that she wanted deviled eggs, so we decided to make them! We both love them and couldn't wait for Thanksgiving to eat them. Later that evening, we went to Dr. McHugh's house for a DCBA Peer Mentor event. She made us tacos for supper and we just hung out at her house and played some yard games. Overall, it was a very fun and relaxing weekend!

  1. That sounds like a great weekend, even if you feel like you didn’t do all that much! Relaxing weekends are the best. I love halloweekend as well, and I haven’t dressed up or gone to a Halloween party in forever until this past weekend. Me and my boyfriend went as Rip and Beth from Yellowstone, and not a single person got our costumes so I think you made it out better than me!

  2. I love the costume choice. Halloween is such a perfect time to be creative and dress up as something funny. One of my friends went as Megamind last year and really committed to it. Overall it sounds like you had fun weekend of celebrating Halloween with your friend and good food.

I wish I had an apartment so I could cook whenever I wanted, it sounded like you guys had such good food on Sunday.
