"Dead" Week
We have finally made it to dead week, which is a very unrealistic name for this week. I have been busier than ever this week finishing up assignments and starting to study for finals. However, I'm happy the semester is coming to an end, because this has been a busy one.
Monday, I had two classes in the morning and went to work in the afternoon for about two hours. I wrote two articles, one about a men's basketball player who was named OAC Athlete of the Week and one about a men's soccer player who was named First Team Academic All-America. One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to write articles like this about student-athletes and all they have achieved. After work, my roommate and I made pasta with shrimp, tomatoes and cream cheese, which was really good. Monday night, I went over to my friend's dorm to do homework while my roommate was in class.
Tuesday, I had one class in the morning then a DCBA Peer Mentor meeting with all the other mentors. It was a reflection meeting where we talked about what we think went well and what did not during this semester. After the meeting, my friend and I went to Wow for lunch because I still have a lot of dining dollars to spend, then headed to the library for more homework and studying. Tuesday night I had a Christmas party with all my friends. We all made food to share, gave each other gifts and played games, so it was a fun night!
Wednesday, I had two classes in the morning, then stopped by the C-Store in Wow to buy chicken noodle soup for lunch because I wasn't feeling well. I then went back to my dorm to eat and do a load of laundry. I watched a couple episodes of "Friends" while I ate, then headed to the library to do more homework after my laundry was done and put away. One of the assignments I worked on was this blog, which is my last ever blog I have to write for my social media class. This is bittersweet because although writing these blogs was a pretty big time commitment, from figuring out what to write about to actually writing them, I have enjoyed being able to write them. It has given me time to reflect on many things I have done this semester and share those things with my classmates.
The rest of this week and this weekend will be spent finishing up the last of my assignments and studying for my four finals. Although I would rather do anything else than study for and take these finals, I'm looking forward to being done so I can go home and celebrate Christmas with my family and get a much-needed break!
I agree, It should be called dread-week in my opinion as it is the most dreaded yet loved week of the semester. Regardless of all the responsibility, it is great to look forward to the long Christmas break ahead!
