Summer Fun
Summer flew by way too fast! I spent most of the summer working, but I was also able to take some much-needed breaks. August was my favorite part of the summer by far. At the beginning of the month, I was able to visit my friend from college. She lives just outside of Cleveland, so we went to a Cleveland Guardians game because they were playing my favorite team, the Baltimore Orioles. While I was there, I also met some of her hometown friends, got to visit some of her favorite places and eat at her favorite restaurants.
Two weeks later, I went to my first-ever concert. My mom, sister and I went to Detroit to see Kenny Chesney on his Sun Goes Down Tour with Uncle Kracker, Zac Brown Band and Megan Moroney. I have listened to country music my whole life, so it was so cool to hear all of the songs I grew up listening to live. I was also able to hear my favorite song live, which is "Knee Deep" by Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett. The concert was by far my favorite part of this summer.
I also went to Hocking Hills for a weekend. Every year since before I was born, my mom's side of the family gets together during the last weekend in June. I have aunts, uncles, and cousins who live all over the United States, so it is nice when we can all get together again. Although we did do some sightseeing around Hocking Hills during a scavenger hunt game, a majority of the weekend was spent sitting around and catching up.
For the Fourth of July, my family grilled cheeseburgers and hot dogs for lunch. We also watched the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, like we do every year on the Fourth. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent outside, swimming in our pool. At the end of July, I went with my family to Pokagon State Park in Indiana. We were only there for a couple of days, but it was nice to get out of the house. We did some hiking and also spent a day at the beach on Lake James.
I had a very fun summer, but I'm also excited to be back at school to see all my friends again. This is going to be a great year!

You had such a fun summer! How was the Hot Dog Eating Contest? I went in to an Ice Cream contest last year at an ice cream festival in Euclid and let me tell you that was only fun during the contest lol. Getting fourth place was not worth the stomach ache afterward! Even though the summer fun is over, I hope you have a great semester with your friends!
ReplyDeleteI went to Hocking Hills this summer too! My family and I hike a lot so we travel around in the summer to find cool, new places. I'm from Michigan so Hocking Hills is a decent drive away from me, but it could have been worse. We just got this new mobile home camper that makes adventuring even easier. Im hoping that over winter break we find another cool place to go to together. I hope you had a great summer!
