A Weekend All Over Ohio

This weekend was a busy one for me because I had to travel all over Ohio. In the span of two days, I traveled from Ohio Northern to my hometown, Stryker, which is an hour-and-a-half north, back to ONU, then to Dayton Sunday for a Club Softball game. It was tiring but I had a lot of fun, so it was all worth it!

Saturday I was able to sleep in, which was nice after a busy week of work and classes. After relaxing for a while watching "Friends," I went to work the women's soccer game. It was a close game but we ended up losing 2-1. After the game was over and I finished the game recap, I left right away to go home for my brother's football game because it was his senior night. The game was moved from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m., meaning I had less time to get home. I got home just before 5 p.m. so I only had a couple minutes to change before heading up to the football field to make sure we got good seats.

Senior night was really weird because I definitely do not think of my brother as being a senior. I still see him as this little boy (even though he's taller than me now) so I think there's no way he should be graduating high school soon. Either way, senior night went well, but they ended up losing the game. They started off playing well, so it was really disappointing for them.

Saturday night, I spent the night at my house before waking up early Sunday morning to drive back to Ohio Northern. I'm not a big fan of driving at night, plus I wanted to spend more than a couple hours with my family, so I decided to just drive back in the morning. When I got back, I picked up my friend for our Club Softball game then headed straight to Dayton. I played in the first game of the doubleheader at third base, which I've been playing my whole life. Both games were close and we ended up losing both but it was still a fun day. After the games, me and my friend went to Chili's for supper before heading back to ONU.

When we got back to campus, I immediately took a shower and changed into my pajamas. It was still early, so I did some homework before getting in bed for the night. I was really tired, so I ended up going to bed at 9 p.m. so I could get plenty of sleep for another busy week!

  1. This sounds like such a good weekend! It is always good to make time to go home to see your family, as I try to do this every couple weeks or so! As the youngest child, I was always the one where my siblings would come back from school to see all my sporting and important events. I bet your little brother appreciated you driving back for his senior night! Lastly, even though the outcome of the softball games may of been not what you wanted, a day playing a sport you love is always rewarding.

  2. That was definitely a busy weekend! I’m going to be having about the same busy weekend as you here soon! My little sister is turning 7 this weekend so I will be driving close to 2 and a half hours east towards the Akron-Canton area. And then I’ll have to drive back super early Sunday morning in order to make it Lima in time for work! I’m glad you were able to support your brother for his senior night game, even though they didn’t win I’m sure it meant a lot to your brother that you showed up.

  3. Wow, you were definitely busy this past weekend. It sounds like you had the perfect combination of staying busy and having fun between softball and your brother's senior night. It's crazy how fast time goes when you are watching a younger sibling grow up. I'm sure he just appreciated you being there to support him even though his game didn't go as planned it was still a memory he'll remember.

  4. It sounds like you had quite an eventful weekend! Traveling across Ohio, attending your brother's senior night, and playing in a doubleheader must have been exhausting but also rewarding. It’s great that you got to spend time with your family and support your brother, even though it’s hard to believe he’s already a senior. It’s clear how much you care about him! Hope this week brings a little more rest for you!
